Why is it that there is a disconnect?

There seems to be a disconnect when we read the bible at times. When we read the bible we seem to put ourselves in search mode. We are searching for what God wants to say to us mode. We read and just wait for something to "speak to us". Reading the word becomes a action rather than an adventure.

The problem is we don't see the bible as an amazing story. Part of the reasoning behind that is we associate the word story with fiction. So, if we say the word Bible and Story in the same sentence we think fiction book. That is so far from the truth. God's story is amazing and completely true. If we can overcome this mentality the word will open itself in ways unimaginable.

You will begin reading this story with passion and anticipation. Questions will flow through your head. What happens next? What did they mean? Where did he/she come from? You will have a harder time putting the Bible down. I have found I meditate on it even more. All day I want to answer those questions.

Try this...Read through a person's life in the Bible. You begin to put yourself in the place, time and situations and experience it with them.

I will try to post more often. Sorry to those 3 people that read this.
