- First complete year with Walnut Memorial
- Moved in to new sanctuary
- Our children adjusted and have begun to find their own interests.
- Micah - Annie Jr, Renaissance Fair production and Lion Witch and the Wardrobe. Budding little actor.
- Abbi - Upward soccer and has already show great talent.
- Hannah - First the bad - tonsil and adenoid removal. Now the good - Upward Cheerleader.\
- Chloe - she is growing into a little girl and looking less like our baby girl. She is developing a strong personality and had made a "BFF" she says (Best Friend).
- Buffy - Well she has begun to teach a youth girls class and I am so excited to see what is next for her. She has planned, juggled schedules and has been the rock of the family. A great mother and the best wife out there.
- Me - Well just soaking up God's Movement in our lives and church.
- As a family - We continue to do things as a family. Trips to Museums, Parks, Orchards and Holiday World. Our wonderful family movie and game nights. I just enjoy every moment because the kids will only be with us for awhile before they are off in their own lives.

Another Christmas that has come and gone.
December has been a wild month with plays, productions and choir presentations. All of our children have really enjoyed this month. Christmas was a blast as usual. We finally had a chance before Christmas to travel around and look at lights. Chloe was constantly asking us to go to the Legion Park and see the lights. So we started off our adventure there. Then we traveled to Panther Creek for the drive through lights.Christmas eve we did our Santa visit at the mall and then we headed out to watch a movie. Our Christmas eve service went well at church that night. Finally we headed home for some fondue and a movie. Buffy put the Norad Santa tracker on the computer so the kids were constantly watching the screen worried that they were going to be awake when Santa hit Owensboro.
Christmas morning was full of presents and excitement as well. Buffy had a special breakfast planned out but that was futile because they were way too distracted. So next year we are going to do doughnuts or something simple.
We had a "Whirl Wind Tour" (Buffy's word) of Murray with stops at all the grandparents. What was so funny is Buffy asked what where their favorite 3 presents. Each one of them named one from every grandparent and one from Santa. So grandparents good job!
Today is the official take down the decor and placing the new gifts in there place. So another Christmas has come and gone.

Micah and Hannah
This month is a busy one in the Hughes house. Christmas parties, plays, church events and Upward Cheer have all hit full stride. If you don't believe me just check Buffy's post : (Click here)

Micah is in two plays in December which Buffy and I realize was a mistake. Way to much for a 10 year old plus school. Anyway he is doing a great job juggling it all and still keep his grades good. His renaissance play is a big part for him and he has memorized Shakespeare style language. I am really proud of him in getting it all down. Also he is in the "The Lion Witch and the Wardrobe" production at the Theater Workshop of Owensboro. This time they are having the play in a bigger facility which is good because Annie Jr was a bit cramped.

Hannah started Upward Cheer and I went to my first practice with her yesterday. They handed out these "Poms" (Not to be confused with Pom Poms because that is an old term). They needed to be "fluffed" to make them look poofy. So at first I have no clue what to do. I sort of peak around at these mothers working on their daughters like it was second nature. So I TRY to mimic what they are doing. After 30 minutes I had one side semi "fluffed" and the mothers had finished 20 minutes before me. I was way out of my element there. Of course when I get home Buffy has them fixed in 15 minutes. Well with that part aside it was cute to see my little cheerleader with her hands on her hips.
This month is full of things to do but fear not because Jesus is the focal part of my December.

First Snow
Late last night or I should say early this morning I heard sleet hitting the windows. I got up to see and sure thing it was. The weather this years seems to be more like it should. We had a Spring, Summer, Fall and now Winter. To me the one month I would like to see snow is December. It seems to add to the Christmas season a bit. I know the snow/sleet was short lived but maybe it is a sign of a White Christmas. Who knows?
