What to do...What to do?

This weekend we went to the Newsong festival in Leitchfield, KY. We enjoyed watching great Christian bands perform and praise. On the way home Friday night we stopped at the McD's Resturant in Leitchfield, KY to get some grub and head out. There was a gentleman that was asking everyone for a ride because his van was broke down. He said his name was Matt and he was in the Band called Run Kid Run. I so wanted to believe this guy and give him a ride with us. Then I remembered I am in charge the safety and well being of other peoples children. I battled with what to do. I mean you hear the words of Christ to help those in need. But now in a world that we live in world where people disguise themselves as people in need and can bring harm those willing. So I decided the best thing I could do is offer to call someone for him and explain that I could help him with a ride because I had youth in the van. He assured me he understood and we headed home. The whole ride there I just wondered if his story matched up. As soon as I got home I looked up on the net and found out he was from the band. After talking with the leadership of the church they assured me that I did the right thing.

What ills me is that I live in a world where I can't trust anyone on the road needing help. At one time you could help a stranger on the road (band member or not). Now because of a fallen world we can't. All I can say is Marantha!
