READ UPDATE at bottom of page.
I regret to inform you that our quest for site 15cw64 was a complete and utter failure. We went to the suspected site and realized we had no idea what we were looking for. Here is a quote from my brother :
"that was a fruitless endeavor my friend. one fossil, two weird rocks, and an alien pod....fruitless I say." - John Hughes
The only information I gleaned from this was that it would have been a perfect place for the Native Americans to live. It was shaded will with plenty of things to provide materials needed for shelter. A small river (Clarks River) provided a water and food source. Also deer are very prevalent in the ares which would give them great amounts of game. Bamboo type plants were found which would have been great for poles or arrow shafts. Finally we found massive amounts of gray clay. I don't know if they would have constructed pottery much but at least they had the capabilities.
I plan on making one more venture out there one of these days in a last ditch effort to look for other information. We did take pictures and have an actually GPS location for record. But mostly the Hughes boys failed miserably.
*hangs head in shame* (LOL!)
UPDATE 11/01/07
*My Uncle Roger had been to this site in earlier years. He explained to me what it looked like and knows the location. But apparently according to his account it had been dug up by the owner of the land (At that time). The owner was upset with trespassers on his land and took a backhoe to the spot. If this information is correct I would like to personally slap that man. Our heritage and history is not something to take lightly. I really hope that didn't happen but I am sure it did.
