New Years Eve...and the rooster purse.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Well it is New Years eve and I am tired. We all had a fine time moving stuff around all day today. The kids are in bed and we are about to start up our new Seasons of Friends. This is how we will ring in the New Year. Whoo hooo party animals!

Speaking of animals I know you all will agree with me after seeing this purse. Below is a purse where I am absolutely sure a rooster died to give my wife a hand bag. Caution small children should not look at this. I am afraid animals may have been harmed.

Rainy day...Busy tomorrow.

As many of you know it was a rainy day. These kind of days make me want to sleep all day and do actually nothing. I had a lot to do today. Upward Basketball is getting ready to go full force. So practice times and stuff like that have to be finalized. Then Feb trip devotional and details need hammering out. I also have to finish up things with our January all night bible study. So with that and regular Friday stuff I was busy.

tomorrow will be no different. We have a fridge to get rid of. A bed to disassemble and a bed to move over. I will also be putting together a shelf. Whew busy busy busy day.

Buffy just got home and she is excited about a new purse that to me looks like a small leather backpack. Then she was for some reason looking for the scary rooster purse she used last year. That thing is terrifying. Poor Rooster! I may post a pic of it someday!

Have a good night and be safe!

Some of the crew.

I decided today to try to cough up some old pictures of the youth and youth helpers in our youth group. I don't have them all yet. If you are a youth and you do not see your picture please send me one. I would love to generate one up. I am hoping to get a full set and start a myspace just for the youth.

There are some of them. These pics will be on here until I get the rest of the youth on. Then I will create a myspace account. I hope you all enjoy the pics. I need to finish a few things up here and head home. My #1 sweetie is getting her hair cut today.

The longest nap in awhile.

Today I was really tired. I don't know why for sure. Maybe it is because I am on 2 seizure medications. Maybe it is just because the holidays wore me out. Either way I was ready for a little afternoon nap.

The kids usually go to bed around noon for a nap. Micah sleeps about and hour. The girls on the other hand usually sleep about 2 or more. This day was different Micah slept longer and so did the whole family. This little nap turned into a long one. I slept for 2 1/2 hours. It was great. Problem is I am not really tired right now. So I will be reading some more on the Chronicles of Narnia.

I am on the 5th book in the series. It is pretty good. If you have read it then you will understand what I am about to say. Reepicheep is the coolest!

Another day in the bag. So it is time to sign off for the night. Hope yours was as blessed as mine.

Goin' home in a sec to break something I am sure.

I have jet home in a bit. I have been working on our Youth Winter Trip. I know you all if you are youth would like to know more about it. So here is a few things you can look at just as prep for the trip itself:

The Cabin.

The Theme is Harambe. This word means working together in unity.

The Scripture verse is Ephesians 4:13.
(More information at a later time.)

We will be getting our fridge today so I have to go home and work on a shelf. Actually the removal of a shelf. This is where I will probably break something. Not because it is hard to do. Simply because anything I touch usually breaks. That is the craftsman in me. I will update you later on my Bob the Builder skills. Have a great afternoon. Bye Bye!!

I have spent so much money today it almost makes me sick.

Today we all went to town. There was a lot to do. First we swung by a place that carries Hello Kitty stuff. They were closed. So that will have to wait until another day. After that we went to Cracker Barrel (gift certificates). We all had a great meal. I recommend the lemon pepper trout. Although there is something weird about eating a fish with half the scales on it.

Office Depot was our next stop. I bought a wireless card there (Gift certificate). Then Lowes and Wal-mart. The kids wanted to spend a little of their Christmas money. We also purchased another Friends season and the wireless router.

I later went back to Lowes to spend our Christmas bonus and some Chamber Money on a new Fridge. It will be here tomorrow. This will actually hold the gallons and gallons of milk my children consume in a few days time.

After this all we came home. Buffy prepared a home made French onion soup. Yum.....

It has been one of those days when you almost feel guilty for spending too much money. This was stuff we needed though. So all is well. Good night all!

Christmas Day has come.....and is now gone.

Merry Christmas all. I hope you all had a wonderful time with family and friends. Most importantly that you celebrated the day with your fellowship of believers. We had an excellent time at Church this morning. Praise God that Christ was born!

This morning Micah got up at 6:00AM. He was ready. I did make him try to go back to sleep because the girls were still asleep. I know that he really just went back in there and probably his heart was beating 90 to nothing. Then he couldn't stand it any longer he came out a little before 7:00AM. Then the family had a wonderful time with gifts from us and Santa.

Buffy got me an mp3 player. I have been talking non stop about this with hopes that she would wear down and get me one for Christmas. I also received a new soft pillow (needed one my old one is seen it's better days) and a Nascar (Number 17) Pez dispenser..

I got Buffy the 3 main things she had been asking for. This was funny because she for some odd reason thought I was going to get her a cell phone (which she sooo did not want for Christmas). So I wrapped one in a Cell Phone Box. LOL!

We went to my grandmothers tonight. It was fun and we all spent time just chatting away. Miss ya John and Rachel but we know that family time has to be split. I know you all had a good time as well.

I am getting off tonight. Buffy is commenting that I am typing a lot today. She has noticed that my last few blogs were short. Well here is your novel honey! Have a great night all!

More to come...

Tonight we will be going to Buffy's parents house. The kids are excited once again. I don't know about the meal. It is usually some sort of finger foods. That is good. I enjoy the small meal sometimes.

Christmas eve is upon us. What a wonderful time for children all around. The anticipation of Santa and gifts. As for me long hours await. It is all worth it in the end.

It is a quick blog today. I have to wrap Buffy's gifts and take a cake out of the oven. Remember the reason we celebrate!!

Poor Frosty.

I am sitting here at church finishing my delightful meal of pizza, chips and cookies. I just gnawed off frosty's head and am now going for the arms. There is just something about Christmas cookies. I love them. It almost seems as though the Christmas air makes them taste better.

Tonight we are getting together at my parent's house. It is such a long drive I just don't know if I can make it without falling asleep at the wheel. There will be eating and present giving. Rachel will be with us this year. I am glad she will be in our family. John needs someone like her to keep him "somewhat" straight. (LOL j/k)

With that said I must retire from this toilsome task of writing sentence fragments and run on's. I hope you all have a good after noon.

Time for Frosty to loose his fat belly....Cya!

I have been Narnafied!

I went to see The Chronicles of Narnia tonight. All I can say is "That was Awesome" to quote on of my youth. We spent 2 hours in a bible study to dig deep and see the meaning behind the Movie. Then we all went to the movies.

I think the youth had a good time. I know I did. I would like to thank Carm for driving the youth home. Also Jonathan, Charlie, Mason, Zach, Micheal, Justin, Molly, Ashley and Jamie I hope you all had a good time and learned a little along the way. I will be posting some pics later of the bible study on our website.

Watch carefully and patiently.

It seems each day I long for the Lord to come back more and more. I can actually imagine it. The wonder and splendor of it all. No more pain, sorrow, death, sickness, war and famines. But seeing Christ face to face is the kicker. I mean to see a face that beams love.

It almost makes a person impatient. I don't want to wait. I want Jesus to come now. Once again I am reminded it is not about my time it is all about God's.

Psalm 130:6-8
6 I long for the Lord
more than sentries long for the dawn,
yes, more than sentries long for the dawn.
7 O Israel, hope in the LORD;
for with the LORD there is unfailing love
and an overflowing supply of salvation.
8 He himself will free Israel
from every kind of sin.

Imagine a watchmen waiting for his time to be up. The sun is his clock. Have you ever spent a day at work where you are constantly watching the clock. It creeps doesn't it? The day will move faster if we get to work. That is so applicable to these verses. We just need to be about our father's business and the time will fly by.

On a side note the children's musical is tonight at the church. The kids and Buffy are staying home (trying to stay well). I must get a bath I am rank. Good afternoon all!

"Episodes"

I have to admit I am tired of having these "episodes". It could be mild seizures Who knows??? All I know is that I have been having these for about 7 years now. I had one today while driving to Office Depot. I forgot to take my paper with me to have the lab work done so I didn't get to rush to the Dr's office to get my blood drawn.

I am anxious to hear what my tests showed from the excursion to Western Baptist in Paducah. I hope they at least can help me figure this out. On days like today I feel pretty much helpless and tired. Oh well ....I know ....I know ...poooooor pitiful me. Just a depressing day.

On the up side class is out for 2 weeks. So that gives me 2 weeks to write a 10 page paper. We have one more class before this one is over. Yeehaw!!

Nite all!

Christmas lights.

We went to Miller park in Draffenville to see the Christmas lights. It is pretty sad the the Murray park light is nothing compared to this. Back to my travels. I stopped in Mcd's to get the children some chocolate milk Buffy some hot chocolate and me a coffee (of course). We drove up and viewed the lights. They do a wonderful job. The kids really liked it. I have to admit seeing my children enjoy Christmas takes me back to when I was a child. The main one that seem to stick out to the kids was the one where Santa is stuck in the chimney. They would say that they saw Santa and he was stuck ...and they saw his BUTT!

On the way home Abbi thought she saw Rudolph (Water tower light). It was a fun little family venture. Buffy is once again sitting beside me trying to read as I write. Shooo Fly!!

Good nite all and God Bless!

I will say it ...and if you don't like it, feel free to not read this.

This anti-Merry Christmas, atheistic, politically correct searching "Happy Holiday" mumbo jumbo is getting on my nerves. The world is working overtime to try to push out any resemblance of a Christian beliefs. If you haven't noticed that then you are not a Christian or dead. I have had two youth that have been approached about their Merry Christmas attitudes.
First there is Traci Rose. She was typing a card in a class for the Christmas season. She was told to rephrase anywhere there was "Merry Christmas". She complied like most people have to if you don't want to cause trouble.

Second was a youth name Mason. He was actually just wishing someone a Merry Christmas. He was told AT school not to say that. He was say Happy Holidays. I must mention this is Calloway County High School.

Check this poll:

Wonder why the nation is split in half? It is because they want to split us off. Hope that we stop fighting and finally die off. I saw this illustration once about how eventually the Christians will be less and less. There will always be a few left. Here is the illustration at best my knowledge.

If the world was a sidewalk. The pavement would be the worldly people. But in the sidewalk there is always a crack. In that crack always grows grass or trees (Christians). So even in a dry and drab world we can not let them tear us down.

It is time for me to put the kids to bed. Buffy just finished reading them a book about Jesus. My son picked it out. He said I want to read this because it is almost Jesus' birthday. How fitting to this post. MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!

Congrats John!!

My little bro called me tonight to tell me he is officially engaged. Her name is Rachel and she is a good young lady. I know that her and John will share many happy years together. I will be glad to have her as a sister-in- law.

With that news I must retire tonight. We had a deacon's Christmas dinner tonight and I am beat for some reason. Nite all!

Ticket 179

Buffy called me tonight on the way home. She wanted me to pick up some dinner. So I pull into Bad Bobs. This BBQ restaurant is about the best you will get in Murray. I go in and order. There is a couple eating and me. That is the customers. Then there is 2 working the counter. I purchased my meal and as the couple eating left. So that leaves me in the place by myself. The cashier tells me that ticket 179 is my number and she will call me when it is ready. I think to myself "ummmm ok?".

Well you would think maybe someone would have come in the restaurant. Nope!!! That never happened. Then as my order arrives the teenage cashier yells "Ticket 179!". I had to restrain myself from laughing. I mean there was only me in this little building. She could have said your order is ready sir. But no it was "Ticket 179". From now on I think I will refer to Bad Bobs as Ticket 179.

On a side note Micah got up last night with a stomach bug. I felt so sorry for him he didn't get to go to his Christmas party at school. But I did take his gift and his wonderful teacher (Not as wonderful as Miss Crystal...haahaha Kassa) let me get him a gift. He is feeling better.

Buffy is looking at me like would you hurry up....So nite all!

And this is your party?? (Warning if you are a democrat do not read this).

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Look at this!!! This WAS on the Washington State Democratic Website. I say was because once it was caught they had so much out pouring of complaints that they had to pull the sticker. I will direct your attention to this Screen Shot of the site before they pulled it. Click here!

I want to call your attention to a few things.

  • The don't blame me blue state pride one. What and undermining sticker. But they have their right to voice their opinions.
  • Support our environment. That one is fine and we can all agree that God gave us this earth and we are to take care of it.
  • Support Diversity. AKA Support homosexual agenda. I don't...
  • Then the give peace a chance sticker. Probably really rooted in the anti-war stance.
  • Then we have the Anti-Christian sticker. It is hatred in its finest form. Then to sit there with the other stickers and support others rights and demean the Christian stance is hypocritical in itself.

Democrats I must say get a hold of your party before you loose it. Want to know why you don't carry the nation like you use to? Check your morals, ethics and lifestyles and then realize. People stand for character. This leftwing liberal agenda is getting you no where fast. I can't believe this it actually sickens me and enhances my chance to vote straight republican every time. How much more red do you want to see next time?

I am alittle angry about this if you can't tell. Anyway I hope you all have a great day!

Youth Wednesday night party.

We had a great time tonight at the youth party. It wasn't much but it was something. I had purchased a Sub from Wally World and then bought chips and the regular party stuff. Once the you arrived we ate and then had a bible study. We began looking back in time in out lives.

I will ask you to do the same. Think back to a time that you really wanted a gift for Christmas and actually got it. Can you remember the excitement? I can.

After that we began looking at the worlds greatest gift. Jesus was born so that we all could live. We looked all into the book of Luke but mainly in the 2nd chapter. We ended with the verse below: (Luke 2:8-15)

8That night some shepherds were in the fields outside the village, guarding their flocks of sheep. 9Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord's glory surrounded them. They were terribly frightened, 10but the angel reassured them. "Don't be afraid!" he said. "I bring you good news of great joy for everyone! 11The Savior--yes, the Messiah, the Lord--has been born tonight in Bethlehem, the city of David! 12And this is how you will recognize him: You will find a baby lying in a manger, wrapped snugly in strips of cloth!" 13Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others--the armies of heaven--praising God:

14
"Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and peace on earth to all whom God favors."
15When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, "Come on, let's go to Bethlehem! Let's see this wonderful thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."

Heaven knew how great a gift was place on the earth. We tend to forget. Now remember back to the gift you received. Did it fade, rot, decay, get old, loose its appeal? Mine did. One thing Heaven's gift will never do is fade. It will be the light to a dark world. It is our job to direct people to this great present.

Have a nice night. God bless!

Class tonight...This has to the most boooooring class in awhile.

Well this teacher is about as interesting as a stump. I go in the class and instead of fighting the ADD I have I fight the urge to fall asleep. I remind you that this is a 4 hour class so it gets real long if you are bored. I think tonight I will count the number of wholes in the ceiling tiles. Or at least estimate the number.

I have a presentation to do. Which is no problem and will at least kill SOME of the time. It is only suppose to be 3-5 mins long. So if I could stretch that to 15 mins and then since I am the devotion man make that on 30 mins that would give everyone a 45min break.

Kind of been a gloomy day. Hope you all have a wonderful evening.

DSL is here.

Not much to say today really. We had our DSL hooked up. This connection is so smooth. I am so excited about it. Buffy had compared me to a kid in a candy store. That is ok! It is the Bomb!

I saw today that the Chronicles of Narnia brought in 67 million this weekend. That is good. I am glad to see that the movie with biblical themes is growing in popularity. The lion Aslan is a reminder of the King of Kings. All I have to say to the world is Booyaah.

Good night all.

Sigs

As many of you know I play a game on the internet. I use Sozo as my name. Over the past few years I have acquired a few "sigs". If you are new to the net world you have no clue as to what that is. This is a like a signature that you can use on web forms and such. I thought it would be fun to see which one you all liked the best. I will simply label them. (Notice there is two of the same one should be animated).
1) This one I made myself:

2) This one is the unanimated version:

3) The animated pulse version:

Breakfast with Santa.

We had breakfast with Santa today. It should have been labeled appetizer with Santa. The gave you a piece of a doughnut (about 1/8th of one), a small mini muffin, a ham biscuit and all the small orange juice containers you can handle. Although the meal was small there was plenty of other stuff for the little ones to do.

While I waited in a line ,that reminded me of the one in The Christmas Story, Buffy took the kids to the craft stations. There was picture frame making, Christmas ornament making and finally they could decorate cookies. The did all the stations while I braved the line. We still all had to wait a few minutes for Santa.

We are going to finish up our shopping today. My mother and father are keeping the children. I need to finish up lunch and get Buffy in the bed. She needs a nap! LOL! I will be sleeping on the couch for that comment.

Are you growing or should you be pruned.

A recent discussion has lead me to go to the Bible. Which is a great thing in itself. You should ALWAYS look to Christ for your answers. This is a problem I have with a lot of people today. So there is not one single person this is about. Here goes.......

There are too many people today that call themselves Christian. But fail to even exhibit the lifestyle that we are called to. Some attend church religiously and others don't grace the doors very often. Both are equally hypocritical. If you don't TRY to live your life in a way that would be pleasing to Christ. Then you call yourself a CHRISTian that is a shame.

But then you get the all to famous "I worship God my own way". There in lies the problem. You have used the word "I". The focus has lifted off Christ and and been rerouted to yourself. If you haven't realized already it is not about you.

Well I had to look at God's word to calm me down. Simply because I get all upset when some people don't even attempt to live for Christ. How will we know the sheep from the wolves? Then it came to me...I can't control others...don't need to ...I will just do the best I can. Let the wolves devour themselves.

Here is the script that helped me: (John 15:1-17)

God will do the pruning on his own. We just need to stay focused on the vine. We all need to bear fruit so that they will know us. The fruit that comes from the vine will attract the lost in so that they will not perish in the fire.

Just ramblin' today. Have a great weekend.

MRI and EEG

I had the test done today. I had an EEG and an MRI. I will in the next FEW sentences describe the test:

1) MRI - The make you take off all metal objects like going through an airport check point. I am wonder if this is because I would look like a fork in a microwave. Anyway....The test runs for 30 mins. I have to mention that the poke me with an IV and shoot a dye into my system. It make you feel all warm over and puts a bad taste in your mouth. Then they strap your head down and stick you in a machine that scans your brain. They did allow me to listen to music. Unfortunately it was country.

2) EEG- This test is not fun for me. I have had this one 3 times now. The stick you in a dark room and hook probes all over your head and 2 on your chest. There are 27 probe and you appear like a man with a head that is wired like a time bomb. I have to mention that they prepare the probe area with a substance that feels like slime and sand. Then the test begins. After a series of wired breathing and eye exercises they bring out the strobe of torture. This strobe light is inches from your face and they flash the thing while your eyes are closed. The faster the strobe moves the more you would like to punch the test person in the face. After the strobe finishes they almost let you fall asleep.

It was a loooooong day and I am ready for sleep time to come. Thank you dad for the breakfast, lunch and the ride to Paducah. Nite all!

Micah's School Christmas Play?

Micah was in a school Christmas play. It barely seemed Christmas like. But oh well I can't expect the school systems to embrace the true meaning. The title was "Christmas at the Circus". Micah's part was a clown (how fitting). After some singing the children dressed as lions, elephants, zebras and other wild animals came out and did some dances and other stuff.

When Micah's class part was up here he came. Full of life and joy running around and having a good time. This may be the father in me.....but he seem to be acting the part a lot better than the others. Then his little red clown nose fell off. He came right over to where we were and handed it to Buffy. He had the most pitiful look on his face. It was like his whole world had just crashed and he didn't know what to do. My heart sank at that moment. That is one of those moments that if you could you would fix it and go out and buy them something so that they would soon forget it happened. Buffy put it back on him and all was fine. The joy returned to his face. You know the father instincts have truly come out in me. I could almost cry when the smallest things hurt my children.

Makes you realize how much God loved us. He let his very son go through so much to restore a broken relationship with us. Unfortunately many never take that relationship serious. Where are you God's people? Wake up and serve him fully. Stop hiding your closet Christianity. You can talk the talk. But Walking the Walk is proof that there is Christ inside. Opppss..I jumped up on that stool fast.

Good nite to you all. As for me bedtime is 2:00AM. Ekkk!

Another reason I am a Pepsi fan.

We have purchased and use a Coke fountian machine. It took them ages to get it to us. Then the product came pretty quick after that. That is where the goodness of Coke ends. We have been running low on Coke the last few days and we keep calling them. Here is the story:

We told them we are Not in the office on Mondays but they can deliver any other time. Not to mention they WONT put us on a credit account unless we have been a customer a year. Guess what day they deliver the products. Yes that is right MONDAY. They have the record that the are not suppose to deliver but it somehow gets lost. So here we are with a coke machine but no Coke. Finally I think we have all that fixed. It will be delivered on Thursday.

Speaking of Thursday I go for 2 test in Western Baptist. I will be having a EEG and a MRI. I really don't care for the EEG. It kinda makes me want to punch the tech in the face. Imagine a strobe light attached to your face. Then imagine them letting you drift off to sleep and kickin' that bad boy in right as you are going asleep. It makes me sick. Fun Fun....

Have a great day and good evening.

She has officially created a monster.

We always make a Chex Mix batch around this time every year. Normally you all know that the original is the one most people do. This year we deviated from the "Norm". Buffy decided to go the sweet route. After a while of roasting in the oven the monster was birthed. This stuff is like a drug. One hit of this Sweet mix will get you addicted. Here is the items in this stuff.

Karo Syrup, Butter and blah blah blah (Sweet mix stuff)
Chex (Corn or Rice...Mess on that wheat stuff)
Dried Cranberries
Dried Cherry Flavored Cranberries
Dried Apples
Dried pineapples
yogurt Raisins (AKA Snowman Poop)

This stuff is the greatest substance known to the world. You MUST try it! Also if you would like to try this I can post the recipe on the blog ....Just let me know.

Thanks Buffy! You are officially better than Martha Stewart.

Sunday a day of Worship.

This Sunday we combined the 2 youth Sunday School classes. Me and Carm (nicest lady on earth) tag team taught. It was kind of fun that way. It was a great way to fill in those slight pauses a teacher has when working to the next point.

We went to the early service. I had to delete some items on our powerpoint that I had forgot to Friday afternoon. So this gave us the reason to get the kids to the early service.

The evening service was good and we had our business meeting. It is amazing how fast the stuff passes. We voted on our 2006 budget and salaries. It went off without a hit.

It is late and I want to dive into my book. See you all tomorrow.

Pork Wings

We had our youth Christmas dinner tonight. It was at Hill's. This joint has all sorts of barbecue and boy did we eat it up. They have a new dish. It is called the pork wing. This is like 2 large chicken wings that are smothered in barbecue sauce. Three of us got this dish. I ate all of mine but Buffy could only eat one. It was great! The meat fell off the bone. It was soooooo tender and juicy. Jonathan Higgins ate 3 wings, a lot of the appetizer and all his meal. Then to top it off the boy engulfed one and a half desserts. This youth was on a mission.

We all had a great time. Molly, Ashley, Kayla, Jonathan, Me, Buffy, Danny and Sherry ate our fill and left. Thank you all for showing up. Have a great rest of the night! (The whole 30 mins. of it.)

He said ....She said...

Well my niece stayed over the house awhile tonight. While here we receive a phone call (I forgot to mention that she is in middle school). One of her friends had called and wanted to chat. There appeared to be a dilemma with a boy. The started the famous "He said, She said" discussion. I bet the phrase was used over 20 times in a single sentence. Good new though I think this life or death problem was worked out. Whew...!

Jordyn Bridges is this niece I am talking about. I didn't mention her name. I figured that you all might need to know her name. Have a good night!

Senior Social and Something Serious

Our seniors have done it again. They have officially filled me with great food. I just got finished with a fest that was AWESOME! There was all types of meats and vegetables. Then the desserts were just as great. These people know how to fill a person up. The fellowship was great and the food matched it.

On a serious note. One of our missions is under attack. We are in the process of securing a site for Poplar Spring Missionary Church (Click link and look at bottom of page) in Uganda. The missionaries in the area were given a letter explaining that they MUST leave the area in 21 days. If they do not they will be killed. As most missionaries have in the past these have decided to stay. It is scary times in Uganda for the Christian Missionaries. Please pray for God's protection.

"The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever. Amen."
(II Timothy 4:18)
