Youth Wednesday night party.

We had a great time tonight at the youth party. It wasn't much but it was something. I had purchased a Sub from Wally World and then bought chips and the regular party stuff. Once the you arrived we ate and then had a bible study. We began looking back in time in out lives.

I will ask you to do the same. Think back to a time that you really wanted a gift for Christmas and actually got it. Can you remember the excitement? I can.

After that we began looking at the worlds greatest gift. Jesus was born so that we all could live. We looked all into the book of Luke but mainly in the 2nd chapter. We ended with the verse below: (Luke 2:8-15)

8That night some shepherds were in the fields outside the village, guarding their flocks of sheep. 9Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord's glory surrounded them. They were terribly frightened, 10but the angel reassured them. "Don't be afraid!" he said. "I bring you good news of great joy for everyone! 11The Savior--yes, the Messiah, the Lord--has been born tonight in Bethlehem, the city of David! 12And this is how you will recognize him: You will find a baby lying in a manger, wrapped snugly in strips of cloth!" 13Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others--the armies of heaven--praising God:

14
"Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and peace on earth to all whom God favors."
15When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, "Come on, let's go to Bethlehem! Let's see this wonderful thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."

Heaven knew how great a gift was place on the earth. We tend to forget. Now remember back to the gift you received. Did it fade, rot, decay, get old, loose its appeal? Mine did. One thing Heaven's gift will never do is fade. It will be the light to a dark world. It is our job to direct people to this great present.

Have a nice night. God bless!
