Sorrow at Hebron

Genesis 23:1-2

1 Sarah lived to be a hundred and twenty-seven years old. 2 She died at Kiriath Arba (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan, and Abraham went to mourn for Sarah and to weep over her.

What a horrible time for Abraham in Hebron. The love of his life passes away and leaves him behind. I can't imagine the feelings that rushed into Abrahams mind and soul. The mourning process was interrupted with finding a place to lay his wife in a foreign land. Abraham begins to ask around and the people gladly give up the best site for him. Abraham graciously accepts the offering and lays Sarah's body to rest.
