Matthew 28:18-20
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen
Act 1:8-11
8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
9After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.
10They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. 11"Men of Galilee," they said, "why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."
These two sets of scripture compliment each other well. The one thing I want you to see is that the first is a command to GO. Then we see a command to TEACH. After that we have encouragement that we will have POWER to do the work and to be WITNESSES. If you notice all the listed place to witness are given. This basically encompasses everywhere it would be your town, city, state, nation and world. Also lets see it this way. You need to be WITNESSES in your home, workplace and with your friends. Everywhere is everywhere and we must see that. Finally I emphasised part of the last part. There are two men from heaven that speak to those gazing up to heaven as if Jesus is going to return the next few minutes. The question is place "Why are you looking up into heaven?" It is a great question to ask. Why are you wasting time when there is a command to go? Let go out there and tell about Christ and never turn back!
