Andy Griffith and Research Methods

Tonight our professor used a very unusual method for teaching research methods. We started the class off discussing our future capstone project for our masters degree. He was wanting us to understand at times our original hypothesis and research question can be incorrect. Only until we research something do we really have sufficient information to make our decisions.

The professor used the Andy Griffith show (Opie's Charity) which was broken into three parts. At the end of each part he would ask us about our original hypothesis and if it was being confirmed with further research. As the show ended it really hit home.

Isn't that just the same in life. There are so many things in life that have layers and it takes time and research to get the full picture.
