Willingness to fail

"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." - Thomas Edison

Just a short thought for today. As I was at church this morning it came to me how awesome God is. I think God displays his greatness in our willingness to fail. When we are willing to strive for something so big that God HAS to be in the forefront of it all. What this causes us to do is allow God to show us every single step. Each step may not make sense. At times those steps may look like they are heading in the wrong direction. At the end though we will look back and see that God directed us through a minefield full of disaster. Then, not only do we experience victory but also a dependence on God for all things.

That victory is freedom - Acts 4:13 reads: "Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they wre uneducated, commen men, they were astonished. And they recoginzed that they had been with Jesus."
Chapter 8 of Steve Brown's "A Scandalous Freedom" is entitled: The Boldness We Fear...and the Courage That Sets Us Free. ..."those Christians who have discovered they don't have anythign to protect and nothing to lose, who have learned that Jesus is Lord and that it doesn't matter what others think about them or do to them - they are dangerous..." Great reading.
