Every so often I feel disgusted by the pure display of disrespect people have for our presidents. It doesn't matter red or blue. People sputter off constant attacks on character. When it was President Bush the left spewed hateful remarks. Now with President Obama the right is doing the same thing. This is kind of expected from a secular world view. IF you are a Christian then this is not and should not be expected.
Just a few post I found on Facebook:
"NOBAMA...'NUFF SAID." ( very original I must say)
"He is a great speaker; so was Hitler.." (Yikes...)
Fox News Comments:
" Obama a liar and thief!! " (wow)
"Now, can we impeach this imposter" (never heard that one before)
This one made me want to puke : "pray for his death "
The last one may have shocked the top ones in to place. Come on people what kind of faith are we spreading here? You have all rights to disagree with our leaders. I disagree with leaders all the time and people disagree with me. You know what? I am wrong a lot! I have been over and over this before in past post about how we are CALLED to respect our leaders and PRAY for them. EVEN if we disagree with them.

In 2 Samuel we see the Story of David and Saul. Saul started off well but soon allowed jealousy and greed to control his life. He attempted MANY times to kill David. David every time had all right to kill Saul and never did. Why was that? Because he respected the person God had placed in authority. Was Saul wrong? You bet! David constantly showed respect for Israel's leader. Even at Saul's death David grieved and wrote a song of sorrow.
That my friends is respect. We need to learn it.
"But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect," (1 Peter 3:15)
I am a registered Republican and choose to respect those whom God has placed as authority in my life.

Well stated. I couldn't agree with you more. Sometimes, I'm too guilty of lashing out, and many times feel convicted for doing so. This is a good reminder to maintain a healthy perspective and respect for those in leadership, regardless of whether or not I voted to put them there.
