“Don’t point your finger at someone else and try to pass the blame! My complaint, you priests, is with you - Hosea 4:4
In all my life it seems to me that it is always someone's fault than our own. Examples are:
1.) It's the teachers fault I didn't receive a good grade. They had it out for me.
2.) It's my parents fault that I have (Fill in the Blank) issues.
3.) It's the police officers fault I got a ticket. After all, everyone else was speeding.
4.) It's my bosses fault that I was "wrote up". They don't appreciate what I do.
5.) It's my wife/husbands fault that we filed for divorce.
6.) It's my best friends fault we have grown apart. They just stopped calling.
The blame game started early in the Bible. When Adam and Eve sinned the blame began. Adam blamed both God and Eve. Eve blamed the serpent. It was everyone's fault they ate the fruit but their own. And the blame continued to grow and GROW.
Where I work people constantly are blaming other for their bad grades or lack of attendance. This is not traditional students but adults my age all the way up. Why is this? The answer is...We don't like to be in the wrong. I put myself on this wagon as well so don't think I am high and mighty. I pray the difference is that when I finally come to my senses I apologize for my mistakes. I have met teachers over the years that taught me in High School and apologized. I didn't act like I should have those days and now I realize that. It is humbling and freeing at the same time. Try it and see.
