I believe we all spend too much time in life thinking about all our problems and issues. I truly wonder if we calculated the minutes we worried against the minutes we were thankful which would win out. I think for most of us we would have to say it would either be worry or a tie between the two. Over the last few months I think I have spent too much time in the worry section of life. I am resolved today to make the best of this holiday and let Thankfulness win out.
Leviticus 7:11-12a:
“‘These are the regulations for the fellowship offering anyone may present to the LORD: 12 “‘If they offer it as an expression of thankfulness,..."
Although there are many types of offerings in the Bible there were a few that were more voluntary. Many offerings were required throughout the year but there were a few that were not. I put in Bold the words that emphasize this statement.
Applying to my life at this moment I will give thanks to the Lord. Here are just a few:
1) Jesus and all the grace and mercy He has shone to me.
2) My wife and her love and support throughout our lives and marriage.
3) My wonderful children and their unconditional love for us.
4) My family and their love and support. We have truly seen this more and more.
5) Our health
6) A roof above our heads or as Hannah put it in a prayer "Our Shelter"
7) The food provided for us daily.
8) The ability to breathe unaided, see, hear and experience God's creation.
There is much more but as we begin to list them it seems I truly see that the blessings far outweigh the problems and issue. This thanksgiving I WILL give thanks to the Lord.
