Uhaul, Or torture device?

Just a quick posts this morning before heading off to work.

Our move went as well as expected a few weeks back. There is no way we could have done it (and survived) without my parents. We packed and unpacked from sun up to sun down. Early in the morning I headed to get the giagantor Uhaul. My first stop was my parents house. There we picked up boxes and such that we had half unloaded from our first move. The sliding door on the truck stuck a bit and so I hatched a plan to close it. I jumped off the bumper with the door strap in my hand. My thought was that my body weight would force the door downward. I was wrong! Instead it stayed almost stationary as me and my almost dislocated shoulder hung from the strap.

After loading that up we headed out for the storage unit in Murray. The storage unit was crammed full of items and the majority of our stuff was there. Slowly we began to load items into the truck. Me and my father were carrying a shelf in and part of it slipped out of his hands. When it did it fell nicely to the wall of the truck where it would stay in the air. While it was pinned though I still had my end and I felt my same arm pull again. This time I couldn't drop the shelf so I had to sit there until we placed it down. After "walking it off" I took some ibuprofen and continued.

As the day grew on the temperature increased in the back of the truck. It finally reached sauna status around 12:00 or so. I knew I was getting too hot but the idea of loading the truck before it got any hotter pushed me. I knew something was off a bit when I started to get cold chills in the back of the truck. Once the truck was loaded we jumped in and headed to lunch. I ordered a salad but all I really wanted was water and Gatorade.

After recovering from almost melting into a like a human flavored Popsicle we headed out. We made one final stop to pick up a few things for my niece and her husband. I didn't help much because I was still pumping in fluids to regain energy for the final push.

Needless to say after hours and hours of work, heat exhausting, pulled muscles, aching backs and injured eyes (just for you mom) everything was completed. I have to really thank everyone again for all their help and my mother in law for keeping the kids. It is nice to have family close in times of need.

Oh and to the Uhaul...thanks for carrying our belongings from point A to point B. Yes you tried to kill us in many ways but we did get things done. I am though very proud of your ramp. It served as a really nice walkway to hover over dog poop that was strategically place in Nisha and Trevor's yard.
