The Hughes family has been busy for the last few weeks. This weekend was a crazy one to say the least. Last Saturday we headed to a home-school convention in Evansville, IN. We mainly went to check out the curriculum that we were going to use for next year. We also took a few seminars and our kids were great through it all. Sunday we headed out to a church in Cadiz to preach a weekend sermon type thing. I wouldn't call it a revival but that is the closest word I could use. Anyway afterward we traveled to Murray to visit family. I didn't really think it through when I agreed to speak on the day of Daylight Savings time. I would probably have decline the invite for that if I had. Anyway we headed back and rested Monday.
Micah is being home-schooled right now while the girls continue to finish out the rest of the year at Highland. The reasons for pulling Micah out are many so I will just leave it at that. His new teacher is very patient, loving, kind and helps him understand things before moving on. He is studying Science, Math, Reading, Language Arts and some Social Studies. We let him pick out something that he wanted to study in depth. He really wanted to learn about the solar system and has really learned a lot. Last night I went out and showed him Orion which he was excited to see. I thought it was neat that he was applying what he learned.
In May I will be heading back out to Arizona for my fourth trip. This will on the Gila River Indian Reservation and I am excited to see maybe some familiar faces. I have to say that I have such a great and supportive wife. She encourages me and sacrifices greatly so that I may minister. Not just on a mission but also in ministry.
I can't really explain in words how blessed I am. You will just have to take my word for it...

I'm so glad Micah likes his new teacher. I know Kenny was trying to get him to choose whether he liked his Math teacher best or his science teacher. Somehow he just couldn't choose.
