During one of the coldest parades I have ever been a part of I witnessed something quite funny. As I sit on the cold concrete and trying to keep Hannah warm a parade vendor entered into the picture. Now there had been plenty moving up and down this huge parade route all night but this one took the prize. Well let just call him "Vendor Pete". Vendor Pete reminded me of someone you would meet at a Nascar Race. There was no uniform or badge. He had a 5 gallon DIRTY bucket full of light sabers in one hand and a cigarette with some of the longest ashes hanging off of it. Pete began talking to a person beside us. One of the kids in the crowd said "Hey can I have one of those for free...??" (as a joke) . Pete then exclaims that the reason he was selling that bucket-o-sabers was to buy gifts for his family. I thought you might want to be a bit more presentable and you might actually be able empty that bucket and now use if for a ash tray. I sure hope his family enjoys there homemade ash trays because that is all they are gonna get with his selling techniques. Well he soon moved on down the sidewalk out of site. I can't help but think of the last part of the Santa Claus Book...
And I heard him exclaim as he strolled out of site....Merry Christmas to yallll....and to yalll a good night....now why is my bucket still full??
