The desk of complete triumph!

I told you that when I had time that I would show pictures of the desk that I put together. We decided that when we were ordering new desks for our new offices that it would be a lot cheaper to order them online and put them together ourselves. So I ordered this really cool desk. I have always wanted one since I have had an office job. It is a U shaped desk and is tha bomb!

Well it came in through freight shipping last week. I should have know that if it came freight that it was gonna be fun to put together. There were three boxes that I could barely push down a hallway in which it came. I carefully opened the first box and realized I was in store for a big ordeal. Piece after piece the boards and stuff came out. The second and third boxes were more of the same. Each part was labeled with a number. The boards totaled to 163 pieces not counting the tiny screws, knobs and items that I have never seen before. After carefully placing things in order I started to put it together.

That afternoon I only got the file drawer done simply because I had to take it all out and it was later in the afternoon when it came. The next day though I started bright and early. With my trust Dewalt Power Driver and a coffee by my side things started to move. Hours went by and things took shape. Finally it was completed. It took me almost a whole day to put it together. Great thing is that I used all the parts, nothing was put together upside down or wrong and it matched the box picture. It is by far my greatest carpentry accomplishment ever!!!

Here is the desk of triumph:

Be careful who you tell that you can successfully assemble a desk kit. You will soon find you have friends bearing gifts of coffee and donuts, and a request for your expertise with a special project. The next thing you know, you are the only person in the room full of screws, assorted boards, and mini-packets of glue, a screwdriver and a hammer...and somehow the box of donuts have mysteriously disappeared.

What is up with the star animation between slides? It looks more like a Disney commercial than a DIY done right. Just my opinion :)
