What to say...what to say

I had planned to basically regurgitate what happened in Arizona but my pictures are at home and I am at work. Let's just say that I now realize that third world poverty exists in the U.S. Houses with no doors and dirt floors makes one realize what we actually have.

My 3 bedroom 2 bath house would be considered a mansion in a place like Hickiwan, AZ. We have so much and do so less with it. So my post today is to cause you to reflect. What are those things you think you can't live without? What are those things that you lack that make you feel poor? The key word is things I believe.

Today after speaking with my accountant I realized that a lot of the citizens in the US live in total debt that they chose. People built big houses that really are not needed. People drive huge cars, trucks and nice motorcycles that are over priced and unnecessary. People buy clothes that have names on them that increases the price by 4 times just for the brand.

We are so spoiled at we don't seem to care. At one time I thought we were purposely ignorant. Meaning we don't want to know because we don't WANT to care. But I think I might be wrong. I think we are purposely merciless. Here is why I say that:

See the Samaritan showed mercy to the person in need. He saw the need and met it. We see and pass by like the Priest and Levite. You see a true follower of Christ sees needs and puts them before his own. We bare the expense just like Christ bore the cost of sin.

Really people...don't you think we could live in smaller homes? Don't you think we could drive cars that were not as much as a house? Don't you think we could buy clothes that just keep us warm? Then why don't we do it? Here is the answer:

We don't because we don't want to. Read the whole story about the rich young ruler in Matt. 19:16-24. Believe me it won't make you feel all warm and fuzzy. But it does call us to understand quick unconditional service.
