The fate of the procrastinator.

I have been meaning to tackle this thought for some time now. The "great" philosophers of the times have always had trouble with the understand or belief in a deity. Just look at what Socrates was quoted saying about "something" existing:

"So because of this similarly I am not troubled, but I am in good hope that something exists for those who have died and, as has been said long ago, it is much better for the good than for the evil."
Socrates Phaedo

These death bed confessions are not uncommon today. Many times when people start to realize their life is ending or ending faster than thought. They begin to struggle with the idea God and his existence. This can lead to a tragic thing if a person "waits until tomorrow". Look at what Saint Augustine said:

"God has promised forgiveness to your repentance, but He has not promised tomorrow to your procrastination."
St Augustine

People the deal is that tomorrow is not promised. Deal with God today. Socrates found himself in an issue that would lead to his untimely death many would say. He used the word "God" in his thoughts and speech. You will never see him say that God is real or exists. Simply because Socrates didn't know. He had a fear inside him if you read his works. Unfortunate that never lead him to accepting our Lord. Thinking that something might exist is believing that nothing does.

A point to ponder. Not deep...but often the simplistic becomes complex.
