The meal with Bill.

Bill and Joyce Thorton are members at my church. He asked me last night if I would be interested in eating fish with them for lunch today. I said sure. After all it is free food. More importantly it is a chance to fellowship with some members.

I went down to their house today. After getting there I realized that I was a part of a dinner party. There was a great feast. We had fish, white beans, vinegar slaw, potato salad, hush puppies, onion, fresh tomatoes and apple pie. This was a good meal. I sat around with people old enough to be grandparents. As I listened I noticed something. Our generation is straying away from meals with friends and family at home. Instead we all go to Cracker Barrel and eat. It was fun to sit there and here them swap stories.

We have a thing at Micah's school tonight. So we will be having spaghetti and going to a "Book Fair". Micah has been worried sick about getting a book. The school was letting children buy books already. He hadn't bought one yet. We just wanted to be there. If you are not careful your child will come home with "Sponge Bob's Adventure in Bubble land". When really they need to be a little more selective. I want my son to enjoy reading. I just want a book with some substance.

Another cold day out there. So if you are out bundle up! Have a good evening.
