Today we had to take Abbi to get her 4year shots. Being a person with the phobia labeled "Aichmophobia" (Fear of needles) I am pretty much worthless when it comes to shots. She had 3 shots and boy does she know how to make you feel like a dog. Abbi has developed a cry that would make a terrorist cry. She simply puts her face to your chest and silently the tears flow. Occasionally she will look at you with this face that almost makes you want to step into oncoming traffic. Anyway back to the subject at hand. Abbi takes the shots and we leave.
I must tell you about a lady we saw while waiting for the medieval needle torcher. The kids were all playing around the door and I mentioned to Buffy that they might need to move. Simply because an old lady might get knocked down. Suddenly the door opens. I see a walker appear. I think to myself here comes an elderly person that can barely walk. This couldn't be farther from the truth. This lady comes in at almost the speed of sound with this walker. I swear I heard a sonic boom after she entered. Not only was this lady movin' she didn't even put the walker to the floor in the first 10 steps. She would walk ten steps and then put the walker down. It was almost like she didn't need the walker at all. So questions arise.
1) Was she just faking it?
2) Was this a way to get attention?
3) Did she just need it occasionally (Hope this is the answer)
4) Is she a spy from some other country? (This could be her cover)
5) Was I dreaming?
6) Did this speed walker carry this for a defense mechanism?
All good questions. I am not making fun of people in walkers. I have met many people that have to use them. I have met many people that need them and won't ever give up on walking on their own. What bothers me is that "IF" this lady is just doing this for a closer parking space then she should be put in jail. I have seen many elderly people huffing it in Walmart parking lot simply because of people like that. Lets just pray that question number 3 was the right one.
Anyway I will stop with the rant.

I can attest to the accuracy of the walker lady. Not only did she not use it, except occasionally, but even when it did meet the ground, it barely touched the floor. She certainly was not leaning on it or putting her weight down on it for support. Not sure what her story was.
Anyways, Abbi is fine. Can't wait to go back in 2 weeks to get all 3 the flu shot...Oh the joys of being a mommy!

I'm glad to know that the kids will be getting their flu shots. I almost asked yesterday if they were going to get them. I hope Abbi's arm is better. Did the Doc look at that?
About the walker thing. Some people start out needing it after an accident and when they get rehabbed they are afraid to get rid of it. It's like a pacifier. They have it just in case they need it. Myself, I would want to ditch the thing. Who wants to carry something around if you don't need it.
yeah ...abbi's arm is getting better. Flu shots are not until the 15th or something like that. They all 3 have to get those. Then a follow up one. Buffy is going to also see if she can get one. I don't know about myself. LOL it's the phobia!
You might ought to get one. You know you do a lot of hand shaking.
