What to say...what to say

I had planned to basically regurgitate what happened in Arizona but my pictures are at home and I am at work. Let's just say that I now realize that third world poverty exists in the U.S. Houses with no doors and dirt floors makes one realize what we actually have.

My 3 bedroom 2 bath house would be considered a mansion in a place like Hickiwan, AZ. We have so much and do so less with it. So my post today is to cause you to reflect. What are those things you think you can't live without? What are those things that you lack that make you feel poor? The key word is things I believe.

Today after speaking with my accountant I realized that a lot of the citizens in the US live in total debt that they chose. People built big houses that really are not needed. People drive huge cars, trucks and nice motorcycles that are over priced and unnecessary. People buy clothes that have names on them that increases the price by 4 times just for the brand.

We are so spoiled at we don't seem to care. At one time I thought we were purposely ignorant. Meaning we don't want to know because we don't WANT to care. But I think I might be wrong. I think we are purposely merciless. Here is why I say that:

See the Samaritan showed mercy to the person in need. He saw the need and met it. We see and pass by like the Priest and Levite. You see a true follower of Christ sees needs and puts them before his own. We bare the expense just like Christ bore the cost of sin.

Really people...don't you think we could live in smaller homes? Don't you think we could drive cars that were not as much as a house? Don't you think we could buy clothes that just keep us warm? Then why don't we do it? Here is the answer:

We don't because we don't want to. Read the whole story about the rich young ruler in Matt. 19:16-24. Believe me it won't make you feel all warm and fuzzy. But it does call us to understand quick unconditional service.

AZ 3

Tomorrow night we will be headed for Nashville, TN. Our flight to AZ will leave early so we plan to stay the night. The team is ready and excited to see what God is going to do in Hickiwan, AZ. I would ask that you pray for out team members and the mission itself.

On a side note please remember my mother in your prayers. She has a heart test tomorrow and we go hoping the results are negative and her and Dad can head out Sunday.

So most likely there will be no posts here for 9-10 days. See you all!

Who wants Mandles???

I believe the video speaks for itself! HAHAHAHAAAA!

Yes I am still alive! The prayer walk listed below went really well and the people that experienced it really enjoyed and learned from it. I am so proud of all the youth that helped out in every way that they did.

This is something that will be great for all churches to do before mission trips. I will eventually post some ideas in the sozo-ministries forums.

AZ Mission Prayer Walk

This year we have constructed a neat idea for information on a mission trip to AZ. Our gym will be set up into four rooms. Those four rooms will have information about the people, problems and spiritual life of the Native Americans. Adults will travel from place to place learning about how to pray specifically for the T.O. People. There will be their "pray bag" that will be filled in each room with things to remind them of what to pray for.

EX. 2 and 1/2 beans - The people of the T.O. use to be called Papago Indians which meant bean eaters. So each person will take those beans and put them into their bag. The 2 and 1/2 stand for the suicide rate being 2 and 1/2 times higher than the national average. So people will learn to pray for the Native Americans in that respect.

Each room will be different and student lead. Our youth will take a vital part in this presentation. I do believe this will be a great experience.

March in with a Bang!

I got to see March come in with a bang early this morning. Buffy, Micah and Abbi all have the stomach bug and were up all night. Also Chloe and Hannah are recovering from some crud as well from yesterday. So this house is quarantined and nobody is allowed in OR out.

This month I will be headed back to Arizona for another mission trip. It is just around the corner so March begins a few more weeks of planning for me. The trip will be good but I keep learning more and more each day that I didn't know. Here recently I found out there is no cell coverage with Verizon or ATT Wireless out there. Since we are 120 miles from the closest Walmart it makes me realize we are not to close to civilization (lol) so emergencies my creep up. So I have found out that Alltel has coverage and we are going to get one of those pre-paid phones.

It is all working out for the trip but today is all about getting my family well. Time to check on everyone...have a good day!
