Trii Fit

A few weeks ago I was traveling home and had stopped at an intersection. Out of the corner of my eye I spotted some kids that had brought down limb and was riding it like a horse. This limb wasn't one that was even close to the ground. The children had to have climbed up the tree in mass and brought down the limb. After doing so some held it down while others hung on for dear life. The ones on the limb's life was in the hands of those grasping the branch. At any moment they could have let go and sent their friends hurling into the air.

I thought to myself...self (which I often refer to myself whilst having a conversation with myself). Kids these days still have imaginations and get out of the house. Although it may have seemed strange it brought me back to the days when we did the same. I believe it is a sad day when a video game company has to put out a fitness apparatus to help us. Maybe it is time we all put down the electric entertainment occasionally and get out and experience REAL life.

I found myself wanting to help those children bring that branch. Even climbing on it myself. So I have now put together a entertainment system for myself. And for the low low price of Trii hundred dollars you can lose weight and stay Fit.

Ever had one of those days?

Have you ever had one of those days? You know one of those that you wish you could just go back to sleep and restart the day afresh. I know we have all had those days. So what does one do? I mean we all can't restart a day. The freshness of a day can be dependent on your time with God.

"Young people,it’s wonderful to be young! Enjoy every minute of it. Do everything you want to do; take it all in. But remember that you must give an account to God for everything you do. 10 So refuse to worry,..." (Ecclesiastes 11:9-11a)

If you start the day off without time with God you have already started it off on the "wrong side of the bed" so to speak. So we need to remember to walk, talk and listen with our God in the mornings. Not because we want to have a "good day". It's because we want to spend time with our creator and king.

So the question is not really, "have you ever had one of those days?"
The question is : Have you spent time with the Lord TODAY?

Trevor and Denisha

Tomorrow I will have the privilege of preforming the marriage ceremony for one of my nieces. I have known that little girl since she was 2. I know at the time I thought I was big when I first saw her. I was in middle school and was "dating" Buffy. You know what? I realized tonight that we all grew up together. She as a 2 year old girl started to show me many things. To sit and recount every way she impacted my life would be far to many for you to even want to read. Her faith in Christ is something that still to this day astounds me.

So tomorrow I am almost giving away a sister. Trevor take care of her...I know you will.

Tha Wedding....

Tonight we will be headed to Murray to make preparations for my niece's wedding. The hustle and bussel is soon to come conclusion. We have been a part of this due to the fact that my whole family (literally) is in the wedding. I look forward to performing the ceremony, seeing my little ones dressed up and seeing my beautiful wife glide down the isle.

One thing has come to my attention though. I will be doing all of this multiple times someday. Yikes!!!! I think I should just pay my kids to elope. That way they get a great honeymoon AND we don't have to go through all the worry of dresses fitting, tuxes the right size and all that other stuff. I am sure they will want a wedding (which is really fine with me...lol). But performing the wedding ...that is a different thing. If I can't make it through my brothers or this one without crying like a baby. There is a good chance I won't make it to the "Friends and family we are gathered.....whaaaaaaaaaaa"

Cya later folks.

Dancing with Cinderella

Many of you have heard about the death of Steven Curtis Chapman's daughter.

"Grammy-winning Christian singer Steven Curtis Chapman suffered an unthinkable tragedy Wednesday when his 5-year-old daughter was killed in an accident involving her brother." -People (May 2008)

I heard about this when it happened and it hurt me not even knowing who she was. To put yourself in a parents shoes is not to hard once you are one. The story is tragic and makes one appreciate each day with their kids.

Before this happened he had wrote a song about her. The song is powerful and is shocking to see how this song was given to him before this event. Steven was on Good Morning America today: (may take a second to load on this page...give it a min)

Here is the song that he wrote:

As tears enter your eyes you now can see through the eyes of a father who hurts. His faith is what drives him to minister on. Please spend time today in prayer for that family. Although she is in a place that is wonderful her parents are not there with her. Pray!

Make it your goal...

"Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before." - 1 Thessalonians 4:11

As I was reading this morning I came across the above verse. After Paul's encouragement to the church to live a pure life and love this verse comes up. Does this verse mean we should go around life and not be heard? Does it ask us to not speak out about the problems of the world? I don't see that at all. Living the quiet life is to live it in such a way that we are known by our life more than our words. It is easy to spout off at the mouth about the sins of the world. It is not so easy to live the life that we are calling the world to live.

Working with our hands is a phrase that becoming a unheard of. Some of the people in Thessalonica had become lazy and idle. They were looking for hand outs and almost believe they deserved them. This is much like people today. How will the world respect you if you lived an idle life? We as Christians should be the ones working the hardest. When they see we are driven to love, live and work hard people will wonder why.

Our ambition or goal in life should be to be an example of Christ in ALL ways. And YES that means at work too.
