T-minus

T-minus 2months and counting...

In May I will FINALLY Graduate. I really never thought this day would happen. I have just 3 more classes to finish and I am done! I am just so happy to be able to finish something for once. So in May if you hear a man running around Coldwater screaming that will be me.

T-minus 9 Days and counting...

I will be leaving for Arizona once again. This time I will be working in the Casa Grande area with the youth. I am just so excited to be able to go back one more time. I told those little children that I would come back this spring and I am going to. This will probably be the last mission trip to AZ for me for a while though. Still I am ready to minister once again.

I hope you all have had a great week so far. Cya next time!

A website idea.

For the last few years I have contemplated the idea of beginning a website that allowed youth ministers the opportunity to access information for trips, retreats and events. I have spent countless hours making devotional books and events that I really want to allow others to use. On this site I would also give links to other ministry sites for free stuff.

I have come to the realization that many of the youth ministers in today's world are bi-vocational. Do things part time gives you limited time and budgets. In this site I would attempt to make things affordable and easily accessible.

One of these days I will probably start that because there is a need. Today's post is kinda boring but never the less something on my mind.

Winter Trip 2007

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

This weekend the we headed to Gatlinburg, TN for our annual winter trip. This year it was labeled exemplify. We had two separate cabins one was the boys and the other was the girls. The event was focus on being a young man/woman of Christ.

Saturday it began to snow as we were coming back to our cabins from Gatlinburg. It continued to snow for the rest of the day and all night. We probably had about 3-4 inches fall on the ground in a 24 hour period of time.

It was beautiful but it also meant that we could not go to Pigeon Forge which the youth love to do so much. Instead the girls had like a make-up, hair cut and styling day. We had a beautician that came for that purpose. Meanwhile the guys had a pool and risk tournament with a snowball fight as well. I didn't mention that we watched part of the Nascar race. This all was going on at once which was pretty wild in the guys cabin.

The devotions, studies and group meetings went well and the Lord showed up as always. We had one saved and many that grew in fellowship with one another. I want to thank all the adults for the help and especially Ricky and Judy Stewart for being our "Trip Parents".

Working on the trip.

Today I am working on finishing up my devotional books four our annual youth winter trip. This event has always been very productive and the youth love it. It is a little different than any one I have ever done. This one is a boy/girl study where the boys and girls study seperate for half of the time.

The whole idea is to show them how to be young men and women of Christ. As with every year we have a theme. This years is Exemplify 07 and the base scripture for the weekend is Ephesians 5:1. Which says:

"Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children."

Well I just wanted to post real quick and also rest from preparing for this event. Have a good afternoon.

Zondervan's Archaeological Bible.

I purchased a new bible a while ago on Amazon.com. It was cheaper than anywhere else local or on the net. I had seen this bible in stores when it first came out but really didn't think I needed another bible. As it stands right now I have 8-10 Bibles. One of them has 4 versions in it so that one should count as 4 (lol).

Anyway the bible is called the NIV Archaeological Study Bible produced by Zondervan. It comes in various styles but I chose the leather bound bible. It has 2 colors (burgundy and tan) which I picked because it looks more "Archaeological". The bible is full of facts about locations, artifacts and other historical details that seem to take you right there. I love it!!! You should buy one.

The coolest thing was after ordering it I had decided I wanted to start a new type of devotional for myself. Last Sunday I felt like I wanted to read in Jeremiah. I didn't know why just that it seemed to be where I wanted to. The bible came in yesterday and the little ribbon marker was one the first chapter of Jeremiah. Ok God...I think I get the point...Jeremiah is where I will read. LOL! Isn't it great how the Lord guides us?

I promise to post about the wedding soon. I had some issues yesterday with Photobucket where I load my pictures. Hopefully tomorrow I can get them in. Cya all!
